Everything you need to know about making an appointment:

I hope this doesn't come off as pretentious because that's the last vibe I try to give at the shop, I pride myself on having an ego-free shop, but I've decided to make a page with booking info to try to cut down on the amount of time I spend responding to emails.

When you have decided on what you want to get, head down to the shop with your reference material (pictures you've gathered of tattoo ideas and styles that relate to the tattoo you're looking to get) a $50 CASH deposit. Note: Deposits are non-refundable. If you can't make your appointment but you give us 48 hours notice we can move your appointment to a later date. We will not refund or transfer deposits to another person. Deposits are to account for the time consulting with you and booking you in. Please make sure you're 100% committed to getting a tattoo from us before we book you in.

If you’re under 18, you'll need a parent/guardian to sign off on the waiver.

Finding reference material

When gathering references for your tattoo, try to stay away from using other people's tattoos. We like to do something unique and exciting for each and every tattoo. You can use someone else's tattoo to show the style of tattooing you want, but we prefer to do our own drawing rather than draw from someone else's tattoo.

That being said simple logos, lettering, symbols, and shapes are not considered someone else's artwork and intellectual property, so we will tattoo them as is.

Photo-sharing websites/search engines are not all created equal, some are better for finding unique reference photos than others. Try not to use Google. Everyone uses Google for their tattoo reference, if you want a more unique tattoo you're better off using more obscure/artsy websites like www.tumblr.com, pinterest.com, and www.deviantart.com.

Note: Photos are usually the best reference material. If you want a bear tattoo, type in "bear photograph" rather than "bear tattoo" you'll end up with something far more unique than going off of someone else's tattoo. Real photographs are the best option. If you're looking for a tattoo that is word-based, www.dafont.com would be your best option to find a font that suits you best.

Every tattoo artist has different strengths and weaknesses. If a tattooer says they're great at every style, there's a good chance he/she is not being completely honest. Here at Nostalgia pride ourselves on our work and our character.

If we don't think we can do a great job of your tattoo, we'll refer you to another shop.

Consults are done on a walk-in basis. There is no need to schedule a consult, just head into the shop anytime in-between 12pm-7pm, and we'll be happy to take a break from whatever we’re doing to come to speak with you.

We here at Nostalgia Tattoo are very competitively priced for the quality of work we produce. We try to stay comparable to other tattoo shops in the area.

Our rate is $150/hr with a minimum of $100*.

*The minimum rate applies to pieces 30 minutes or less, something about the size of a toonie or tennis ball depending on the amount of detail. The remaining minutes are not transferable to a friend or another day. The minimum price is in place to cover setup costs, time spent tattooing, and time setting up and tearing down.
